Cascina Belvedere is a family farm in Italy where rice is grown following sustainable farming principles. Their range includes unique varieties such as black rice and red rice, each offering distinctive flavors and aromas. Black rice, cultivated in the Po River Valley, imparts an aroma reminiscent of sandalwood or freshly baked bread. Red rice, typically grown in clay soil, is known for its characteristic red color and slightly sweet taste. The whole grain aromatic organic black rice “Nerone” is highly valued for its rare color. It is delicious when cooked and flavored with oil or butter, and can also be sprouted. Suitable as a standalone dish or as a side dish to fish or meat, it is rich in phosphorus and magnesium. Black rice originates from China, but today it is also grown in Italy.
Preparation: Boil for 30 minutes.
