Product Information
Maca powder can be sprinkled on cereals, added to smoothies, baked goods (up to 20% of the flour), and other dishes.
Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a plant that naturally grows in the central Andes. The powder is made from dried maca roots, which have been used for over 2000 years in food and traditional medicine. This plant grows high in the mountains (above 3500 meters above sea level) in barren, rocky soil and can withstand temperatures as low as -10°C. It is the only edible plant that grows at such altitudes. Locals use it daily as an energy source. Attempts to grow it in different climates and soils have raised doubts about whether maca grown elsewhere retains the same properties, as the rootstock does not form properly.
Preparation: Mix 1 tablespoon with your favorite plant-based drink, yogurt, juice, or use it to flavor your favorite dessert, salad, or cereals. Seal the package tightly after each use. Store in a dry, dark place.
