Lebensbaum organic Bourbon vanilla pod offers a soft, sweet flavor that masterfully complements sweet dishes from cakes to Crème brûlée. This gentle vanilla pod also pairs well with fish and salads.
This Bourbon vanilla is organically grown in Madagascar, where orchids thrive in tropical forests. Small-scale farmers are involved in the labor-intensive cultivation and often the processing. Orchid flowers are pollinated by hand, with skilled hands managing up to 1200 flowers per day. Each flower develops a green pod over 6–8 months, which is handpicked before it ripens when the color changes from green to yellow. The pods turn dark brown after months of fermentation and drying.
Note: If white spots appear on the pod, this is not a quality defect but crystals of pure vanillin.
The pod is conveniently placed in a glass test tube-like container.
