Lebensbaum Biodynamic (Demeter) Ground Coffee PLANTAGEN has a mild flavor and aroma, with a slight acidity. Made from the highest quality, hand-picked, and carefully selected biodynamic Arabica beans. Coffee intensity – 3 (out of 5). Suitable for various preparation methods.
This “Plantagen” coffee is grown in the valuable volcanic soil, shaded by trees, and within a region of immense biodiversity on the Pacific coast of Mexico’s Sierra Madre de Chiapas. The coffee beans mature slowly in the cool climate at 1000 meters above sea level.
Lebensbaum has specialized in roasting the finest coffee varieties since 1933. By roasting the coffee beans slowly and in small batches at 233ºC for 16 minutes (with preheating), a wonderful aroma is revealed. This method prevents burning, the formation of carcinogenic substances, and stomach irritation. In comparison, conventional coffee is roasted at temperatures of 500–600ºC, with an average of two tons of coffee beans roasted in about 40 minutes.
